What is Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck surgery)?
Abdominoplasty is a popular and highly effective plastic surgery procedure. It treats problems of relaxation of the abdomen in men and women. This relaxation is due, depending on the gender, to great weight loss and pregnancy.
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and lasts 2.5-3 hours. The incision is made below the upper limit of the underwear that the patient is used to wearing, so that the incision is not visible. During this surgery, the excess skin (and possible stretch marks) is removed by simultaneously tightening the muscular system located under this skin. This results in a smaller diameter of the waist and abdomen. The navel is repositioned in a new position depending on the removed part. The result of the operation is a flat, smooth and well-shaped abdomen. During this operation it is possible to use the technique of liposculpture to perfect the image.
Postoperatively the patient stays one night in the clinic for preventive follow-up. When she leaves the clinic, she is instructed to use a special belly belt that she should wear for about a month, except at the time of bathing.
The pain is relatively mild and goes away with simple painkillers. The feeling of tension that the patient may feel disappears after about 10-12 days. Patients can return to work 7-10 days after surgery. Exercise and weight lifting should be avoided for at least 1-2 months
